James E. Smith Jr. (Jim) manages Title Stream’s Uptown Office and leads the Residential Services Department, bringing decades of experience in real estate law to every transaction. He’s passionate about helping buyers, sellers, and lenders navigate the complexities of contracts, financing, and property deals with ease.
What sets Jim apart is his love for teaching and mentoring. He thrives on guiding ambitious real estate agents as they navigate the market and build successful businesses, sharing his knowledge to help them grow and succeed.
Earlier in his career, Jim played a pivotal role in drafting Louisiana’s Riverboat Gaming Act and worked as a staff attorney for the Federal Energy Commission. He holds degrees from Boston College, Cambridge University, and George Washington University and is licensed to practice before federal and state courts.
When he’s not working or mentoring, you’ll find Jim fishing, sailing, or enjoying time with his wife, their children and grandchildren, and the family dog. With his sharp wit and approachable style, Jim makes every closing day a smooth and positive experience.
