Meredith F. McDermott is the lead residential title examiner for Title Stream, LLC and manages the company’s Abstracting and Examination department in the Central Business District of New Orleans. Licensed to practice law in both Louisiana and Mississippi, Meredith represents clients in handling property and business matters across the Gulf Coast. She enjoys a transactional law practice focusing on commercial and high-end residential real estate, private financing, general business matters, and successions and estates. As manager of the Abstracting and Examination department, Meredith oversees all public record research conducted by Title Stream’s in-house abstractors and ensures the chain of title for each property has been thoroughly examined for potential title defects. Title defects and the ways in which they may be cured are areas of special interest to her.
Meredith was born and raised in Biloxi, Mississippi. She began her career in real estate as Secretary of the Real Estate Department at Page, Mannino, Peresich & McDermott, with whom she continues to work with in issuing title insurance for Mississippi transactions. Meredith received an undergraduate degree in Public Accounting from Spring Hill College before graduating from Loyola University College of Law. At Loyola, she received several honors, including the Law Excellence Award in Civil Procedure II and Family Law. She is a member of the Louisiana Bar Association, the Mississippi Bar Association, the New Orleans Bar Association and the Harrison County Young Lawyers Association. In her free time, Meredith enjoys arranging fresh cut flowers and attempting to decorate her home in Uptown, New Orleans, where she lives with her husband, and their beloved maltese-poodle mix, Mac Daddy.
